OregonAFSCME Next Wave offering Scholarships to AFSCME International Next Wave Conference
After issuing scholarships to our Council Convention, OregonAFSCME Next Wave is now offering scholarships to attend the International Union Next Wave Conference in Detroit Michigan, from July 12-14 at the Marriot Detroit Renaissance Center. This is a great opportunity to build your skills, learn new fight back strategies, and connect with other young union members from across the US and Puerto Rico.
Applications are due by May 10th and can be submitted through the link below. Scholarships are open to new and/or young union members and will be reviewed by the Next Wave Scholarship Committee. Space is limited.

group — members aged 35 and under — is planning a social event in
Bend in conjunction with the Oregon AFSCME Convention.
On Friday, April 19, the
group is hosting a bowling and karaoke night at Lava Lanes, which is less than
three miles from the host Riverhouse Conference Center. Next Wave will pay for
bowling; participants are on their own tab for adult refreshments.
Please note this event is
open to both those attending the convention and any younger AFSCME
members in Central Oregon — you do not have to be a convention
delegate to participate.
The event will begin at 9

On December 7th, OregonAFSCME Next Wave is holding a bowling night for members, friends, and family. The event is at Town and Country Lanes, 3500 River Rd N, Keizer, at 7pm. The first 30 to RSVP are covered by Next Wave. Snacks and food will be available, but please bring a dish if you are so inclined.
